Arte, Sol, Playa y Navidad en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
La playa de Las Canteras se convertirá un año más en un escaparate para la creación artística, un espacio dinámico, interactivo… un museo al aire libre que, a través de las propuestas finales, nos permitirá transportarnos desde el Belén de Arena a otra dimensión de la historia gracias a las imágenes del Antiguo y del Nuevo Testamento plasmadas en el conjunto escultórico.
Son siete los escultores que se enfrentarán de nuevo a esa materia inestable y cercana a nosotros como es la arena de la playa. Partirán de su dispersión para aglutinarla en un todo, abordarla con la idea ya preconcebida e ir al encuentro de la escultura deseada. En esos talleres de espacios abiertos, los maestros escultores nos permitirán disfrutar de estos procesos de creación, en los que pasaremos de la curiosidad de la primera etapa a la sorpresa durante el desarrollo de cada pieza y, por último, a la admiración de ver la obra acabada.
Desde La Concejalía de Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria y el Patronato de Turismo de Gran Canaria deseamos que un año más sigamos sintiéndonos propietarios de proyectos que se hacen pensando en toda la ciudadanía y ofreciendo a nuestros visitantes propuestas diferenciadas en épocas propicias para los encuentros familiares, con los amigos, la reflexión y los compromisos.
Kunst, Sonne, Strand und Weihnachten in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Auch dieses Jahr wird der Strand Las Canteras wieder zu einem Schaufenster für künstlerische Kreationen, ein dynamischer, interaktiver Bereich … ein Museum im Freien, in dem wir uns anhand der endgültigen Werke über die Krippe aus Sand in eine andere Dimension der Geschichte versetzen lassen können, die uns die Darstellungen aus dem Alten und Neuen Testament nahe bringen.
Dieses Mal sind es sieben Sandskulpturenkünstler, die sich wiederum mit diesem instabilen Material auseinandersetzen, das uns so nahe liegt, wie der Sand am Strand. Sie beginnen mit dem formlos verteilten Material, um es zu einem Ganzen zusammenzufügen, um die bereits vorgeformte Idee in die Realität umzusetzen und die gewünschte Skulptur auszuarbeiten. In diesen Werkstätten im Freien können wir den Meistern der Sandskulpturen bei ihren Kreationsprozessen zusehen. Dabei werden wir von einem Zustand der Neugier in der ersten Phase zur Überraschung während der Entwicklung jedes Teils bis hin zur Bewunderung am Schluss übergehen, wenn wir das fertige Werk sehen.
In der Fremdenverkehrsabteilung der Stadtverwaltung von Las Palmas de Gran Canaria und im Fremdenverkehrsamt von Gran Canaria freuen wir uns, dass wir auch dieses Jahr wieder die Vorschläge als unsere Eigenen betrachten dürfen, die im Gedanken an alle Einwohner erschaffen werden, und unseren Besuchern etwas ganz Besonderes zu bieten haben, in einer Jahreszeit, die zu Zusammenkünften mit der Familie und den Freunden einlädt, ebenso wie zum Nachdenken und Schließen von Kompromissen.

Art, Sun, Beach and Christmas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
For another year running, Las Canteras beach will be transformed into a showcase for artistic creativity, a dynamic and interactive space, an open air museum where the finished sculptures will transport you from the Bethlehem of Sand to another dimension of history, thanks to the images from the Old and the New Testament which are the theme of this collection of sculptures.
There will be seven sculptors participating in this event, who once again will face the challenge of working with sand, an ephemeral material that is familiar to all of us. They first compact the loose sand until it forms a solid mound, and then start to work on the material until the desired form takes shape. Watching the master sculptors at work in these open air workshops, you will enjoy seeing the creative process at work, and your feelings will change from curiosity during the first stage, to surprise as you see each sculpture take shape, and finally to admiration when the sculpture is finished.
Once again, the Tourist Department of Las Palmas Town Council, in Gran Canaria, and the Gran Canaria Tourist Board would like to invite everyone to enjoy this sand sculpting event, and share in the pride in owning these sculptures, an unusual form of entertainment designed for all the local residents, as well as visitors, at a time of year that is characterised by family reunions, meeting friends, and making resolutions and commitments.
